Adult Fitness Classes

Join us for Fall 2025!

 

  • Drop in, but registration required. Two ways to Register:  
    • Through the portal via the Dance Arts app or click here to access/create your account. Once account is created, search 'events' tab to register.  
    • Click here to register through the events calendar.
  • $20 per class (Cash or Venmo only @DanceArts-Merrick – it will say James Dale and have the Dance Arts logo). Pay as you go. No credit cards accepted.
  • Purchase 6 class $100 punch card ($120 value) OR 12 class $180 punch card ($240 value)
  • Adults 18 and older.

BeMoved - Mondays 8pm

  • BeMoved classes are designed to be accessible to individuals of all levels, including those who are new to dance. 
  • The program offers a wide range of dance genres, from Bollywood to Broadway, to cater to different tastes and preferences. 
  • BeMoved emphasizes the joy of movement and the power of dance as a way to express oneself and improve overall well-being. 
  • BeMoved classes provide a way to get a full-body workout, explore different dance styles, and express oneself through music and movement while enjoying a supportive and inclusive environment. 
  • Class is 1hour.
  • Attire: workout clothes and either dance shoes or sneakers.

Mat Pilates - Tuesdays 11am

  •  A low impact class that is designed to improve posture and alignment.  Benefits include core strength, flexibility, better balance, injury prevention and can improve performance in dance and other sports.
  • All levels welcome, no experience necessary. 
  • Attire:  Workout clothes 
  • Bring your own mat
  • Class is 1 hour.

Cardio Dance Fitness - Pop Up Classes 

  • Fun, energetic workout that combines dance-inspired movements with cardiovascular exercise, set to upbeat music. This class is designed to get your heart rate up, burn calories, and improve overall fitness while enjoying a lively atmosphere.
  • All levels welcome, no experience necessary. Our class is designed to be accessible to all fitness levels, with modifications available as needed. 
  • This dance-based format makes exercise feel less like a chore and more like a party. 
  • Attire:  Workout clothes and sneakers
  • Class is 1 hour.

Zumba Fitness - Sundays 9:30am

  •  A dance fitness program that combines Latin and international music with easy-to-follow dance moves. It is a fun and energetic way to get a workout while improving cardiovascular health, flexibility, and coordination.
  • All levels welcome, no experience necessary. 
  • Attire:  Workout clothes and sneakers.
  • Class is 1 hour.

LaBlast Fitness - Tuesdays 8pm

  • Is a partner-free dance fitness workout created by world-renowned dancer and fitness expert Louis van Amstel. 
  • Experience the full array of dance styles from Jive to Foxtrot and Viennese Waltz to Lindy Hop set to your favorite music.
  • All levels welcome, no experience necessary. Our class is designed to be accessible to all fitness levels, with modifications available as needed. 
  • Whether you want to tone your body, maintain a healthy lifestyle, learn to dance, or just have a great time, this class is for you.
  • Attire:  Workout clothes and sneakers.
  • Class is 1 hour.

Power Flow Yoga - Wednesdays 8pm

  • This is an all level flow, geared towards building heat and strength. 
  • Vinyasa yoga links the breath with continuous movement, offering physical benefits for our health and mental
    well-being.  
  • Flow through the poses for balance and flexibility.
  • Bring your own mat.
  • Class is 1 hour.

Mommy (Parent)Moves (2-12 mos) - Wednesdays 10:15am

  • Mommy Moves is a fitness class that provides a unique opportunity for parents and caregivers to bond with their babies through the joy of dance. 
  • The class focuses on incorporating babywearing into various movements like swaying, stepping, and bouncing, while also providing a fun and social environment for parents. 
  • Babywearing dance classes offer a chance for parents and caregivers to connect with each other, sharing experiences and building a support network. 

  • The class provides a unique workout experience, boosts endorphins, and can help with postpartum recovery. 

  • Participants are encouraged to bring their preferred baby carrier, but holding the baby is also an option. 
  • Class is 45 min.
